A night of lighting tests with one of our favorite artists, Justin Werner. This was a chance for us at MMP to experiment with the use of organic nostalgic lights while using newer technology. That's right, we used Edison style bulbs with LED replacement filaments to create an elegant and classic mood.

THE NEW “MMP THE LIVE SESSIONS” PROJECT
“MMP the Live Sessions” is a weekly project that promotes local San Diego musical performance artists. We strive to capture the live aspect of each musician’s performance in its raw entirety in a true and honest way. Each session is as played without the use of audio pickups and punch ins to capture the creativity of the moment. It’s a chance to get intimate with the performers and see them in their true element. We have each artist perform one original and one cover tune session. The artist’s original tune lets the audience in on their creative endeavors whereas each cover tune performance reveals the artist own interpretation of a modern classic with a twist.
No Film School and the Power of Colors
Happy Monday, Music and Motion Pictures hopes you had a wonderful and exciting weekend! We are always interested in learning about production so we find ourselves searching through No Film School often. It's a great website to learn new techniques by fellow film makers. We recommend browsing through this site and hope it inspires you just as much as it inspires us.
Isn't it Beautiful
We value the work we do at Music and Motion Pictures, which is why our equipment is always prepped and ready to go. This photograph shows some the awesome products we have in our collection: RED DRAGON CAMERA, LED lights, Green Screen, light reflectors, and more! It is our goal to produce fantastic work. We couldn't do it without our gear.

Philip Bloom's From Chicago to the Moon
Check out this short film Philip Bloom made using a Canon 1DC and Sony F55. We love this film because it shows Bloom's ability to make landscape shots into visual abstractions. One of Bloom's techniques includes filming in 4K then downscaling to 2K. Here at Music and Motion Pictures we use this similar technique in order to change the perspective of a shot without losing image quality. We hope you enjoy this film! (This video was created by Philip Bloom)
Fashion Week San Diego
We had the pleasure of attending and filming this year's Spring Showcase. This year's couture include high colors, glitter, sexy bathing suits, tide dye, and much more! Make sure to check out this year's Fashion Week, which will take place from September 29 - October 2, 2016. We will surely be there!!
The Sky's the Limit
Everyday we think of new ways to make a shot interesting and creative. Often times, we use our DJI f550 Drone to look to the sky for inspiration. Our drone allows use to capture amazing aerial shots that make a video dynamic and all encompassing. We will be posting a video shot on our Drone. Make sure to check out our website to see our Drone in action!
Radio Days
Companies such as Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, and iTunes have drastically changed the way we listen to music. Music has become extremely ubiquitous and accessible, which is great for listeners, but is, at times, disheartening for Radio Gurus. Along with the advancement of technology, radio days have been in decline. Luckily, there are steadfast Radio Hosts/DJ's who work hard at keeping music circulating in the air.

We Love Our Equipment
Cinematography is one of the most invaluable aspects of a film- just think of The Revenant. This Award Winning movie is filled with impressive shots that are powerful and moving. The creative minds behind The Revenant had a vision and used RED cameras to translate those visions into film. Here at Music and Motion Pictures we also value good vision and use RED cameras to turn ideas into impressive and stimulating visual imagery. We love our equipment because it helps us create magic.
